SCCARFS is looking for volunteers who love animals and are responsible pet owners

Responsible pet owners are those who:

  • Spay or neuter their pets

  • Provide their pets fresh food, water and a clean environment every
    day

  • Provide yearly veterinarian check ups and vaccinations

  • Have their dogs tested for heartworms and give them a monthly
    preventative

  • Consider their pets to be part of the family

  • Protect their pets from fleas and other parasites

  • Keep identification on their pets at all times

  • Do daily head counts if your pets insist on being free roamers.

  • Give their pets basic obedience and house training

  • Make a lifetime commitment to their pets
We at SCCARFS Pet Connection Project seek volunteers who would like to be a part of our team and assist us in other ways..
  • Develop and maintain the SCCARFS web site

  • Organise and Run fund raising events

  • Help foster animals that needs additional attention eg kittens and
    puppies

  • Spend time playing and socializing with the animals

  • Spend time training the animals

  • Take digital photographs of animals

  • Maintain phone and mailing list of volunteers

  • Make phone calls

  • Screen phone calls

  • Donate professional services

  • Prepare educational material

  • Compose and print flyers or posters

  • Deliver flyers to pet stores and vets

  • Groom dogs and cats

  • Take animals to be groomed

  • Provide animal’s transportation to various participating vets

  • Board rescue animals when foster family is out of town

  • Help foster homes take the animals to the vet

  • Show animals at pet adoption days (at stores too)

  • Prepare identification tags

  • Talk to vets about helping with services for rescued animals

  • Write articles for newsletter

  • Take a dog to obedience class

  • Transport animals to and from other cities or state
